Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella was born as a Dominican friars’ convent in Florence, Italy in 1221. Since then, we select nature’s finest ingredients to give life to authentic, beauty-seeking routines for the home and the body.
Come to any of our stores or shop online our newest Eau de Parfums, Eau de Colognes, soaps, candles and skincare and bath products. The historical location, of Via Della Scala 16, Florence and also the very first operational site for the Maison, it is today a boutique museum where history brings alive the magic with care, savoir-faire, elegance and we are committed to preserve, and evolve, a heritage like no other.

I can’t recommend highly enough to visit this comptoir, for the quality of the product and excellence of service - in particular with our associate Mariano. Luxury retail is an experience, and the one created at Santa Maria is unlike any other I’ve witnessed, from the lighting to the cabinetry design to the product packaging to the flooring. Everything feels bespoke to this space. A great salesperson forms a relationship and tells a story, and Mariano did both - whether his own personal life story or his experiences in the fragrance world to the ancient history of the brand and how it connects to today. A great salesperson also understands trust in the customer, and Mariano exemplified that by guiding us away from scents that do not fit our profile and letting us test scents for a day before settling on which worked best for us. It is the type of professionalism and personal attention that epitomises the luxury experience and is often forgotten in the modern retail experience. I came to the story with next to no knowledge of fragrances and came away with an incredible experience, a lovely memory, and a desire to learn more in the future.

We had the best experience at this beautiful store during my visit to Paris. I am relatively new to the scents of this storied brand and Mariano helped me navigate the scents and soaps. Mariano is a gem. He made us laugh and I thoroughly enjoyed the immersive experience he created for me and my brother. I went home with Cinquante and several soaps.
